Mindful Life Project (MLP) is an educational nonprofit organization that specializes in mindfulness-based social emotional learning programming. Serving schools across the nation, MLP is dedicated to enhancing the mental and emotional well-being of students, teachers, community leaders, and families. The organization's comprehensive approach aims to transform school environments from the inside out, fostering a culture where mental and emotional well-being is the foundation of everyone's experience. MLP's ultimate goal is to equip everyone with the skills and practices necessary to thrive, promoting a deep sense of belonging and connection among all members of the school community. MLP stands at the forefront of direct service mindfulness-based social emotional learning programming. The organization offers two student-oriented programs: Mindful Community and Rise Up. Mindfulness coaches are stationed full time on campus throughout the school year to implement these programs. Besides supporting student mental wellness, these coaches also provide mindfulness programming to the school staff and families, ensuring the mental and emotional well-being of the entire school ecosystem. The organization extends its mindfulness programming across the country through Mindfulness 360, a highly customizable program for students and educators. Delivered both in-person and virtually, the program features assemblies, live-weekly virtual mindfulness programming for the whole school, teacher and family mindfulness sessions, and professional developments. This approach allows MLP to reach a wider audience and have a more significant impact on the mental and emotional health of school communities. In addition, MLP offers a broad range of customizable professional development trainings for educators. These include techniques to integrate mindfulness into personal and professional lives, trauma-informed practices for student interactions, culturally conscious strategies, methods to promote student social-emotional development, and ways to cultivate a school culture centered on wellness. With this diverse offering, MLP empowers educators to contribute positively to the mental and emotional well-being of their students and the broader school community.
