Description
Advocating for the broadening of scientific perspectives beyond the confines of materialism.
The Galileo Commission, founded in 2017, is an organization dedicated to broadening the scientific perspective beyond the constraints of materialistic understandings. The Commission challenges the prevalent belief that consciousness, generated by the brain, ceases to exist after death. The Galileo Commission Report, authored by Prof Dr Harald Walach and titled "Beyond a Materialist Worldview – Towards an Expanded Science," is a product of a collaboration with 90 advisers from 30 universities worldwide and is recognized as a trailblazing document. The Commission also offers a Summary Report, a Layman's Report, and a book titled "Spiritual Awakenings," which features transformative experiences of 57 scientists and academics. "Spiritual Awakenings" is a collection of essays written by scientists and academics, recounting their personal experiences of synchronicity and the transformative impacts these encounters had on their worldviews and lifestyles. The Galileo Commission believes in an intelligent, benevolent, creative, and playful universe where we, as individual expressions of a universal mind, collaboratively create our reality. The Commission encourages individuals to support their cause and join their movement as a Professional Affiliate or a Friend. The Galileo Commission features various notable guests, including Peter Russell, a leading thinker on consciousness and contemporary spirituality. He is famous for coining the term "global brain" and predicting the impact of the internet on humanity. Other guests include Dr Harrie Salman, a philosopher of culture, and Dr Annine E.G. van der Meer, a Dutch historian of religion with a PhD in theology from the University of Utrecht. The Commission also hosts an informal monthly get-together to discuss significant books for the Pari Center community, a partner of the Galileo Commission. These gatherings are hosted by David Lorimer, a key figure of the Commission. Other notable guests include Rev. Prof. Stephen G Wright FRCN MBE, a highly recognized figure in the nursing field, who shares his unique journey and perspectives, adding depth to the discussions.
