The Fetzer Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a more compassionate and interconnected world, has announced that one of its esteemed board members, Rev. Jennifer Bailey, has been appointed as the new Executive Director of The Dan and Margaret Maddox Fund. The Maddox Fund is a philanthropic foundation situated in Nashville, Tennessee, with the primary goal of using its grant-making prowess to enhance the lives of young individuals and safeguard the natural environment in Middle Tennessee. Rev. Bailey brings with her a wealth of experience and a fresh vision for the fund's initiatives, aligning perfectly with the Institute's mission. In her new position, she will supervise the foundation's vision, strategy, and operations. Before this, she served for ten years as the founding Executive Director for Faith Matters Network, a pioneering Womanist-led organization supporting spiritually grounded leaders in their quest for self and community healing. Rev. Bailey has expressed her excitement for this new phase of her career and her dedication to the Fund's focus on youth and the environment. She sees this focus as a public declaration of the unwavering commitment to building a better future and leaving the world in a better state than it was found. Rev. Bailey has an illustrious background in spiritual leadership. She is ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and is recognized as a public theologian and a leader in the multi-faith movement for justice. Her accolades include being an Ashoka Fellow, New Pluralist Field Builder, Aspen Ideas Scholar, On Being Fellow, and a Truman Scholar. The Fetzer Institute is based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and has extended its congratulations to Rev. Bailey on her new role.
